Chinese Tutorials at All Levels

With the rising status of China in many important arenas such as global economy and trade, knowledge of Chinese language, culture and society has become a major advantage in the job market. More and more UK, European and US students at different education levels (some from primary schools) desire to take private Chinese lessons.

Our Chinese tutors have taught Chinese language, literature, history, politics and society at all levels to students from a wide range of schools and universities.

Our tutors are native Mandarin Chinese speakers who provide comprehensive training in Chinese language, cultural and society. We are highly trained linguists who have taught different ancient and modern languages, literatures, cultures and civilisations to university, secondary and primary school students since 2007. Based on our advanced academic credentials, linguistic expertise and rich teaching experience, we can effectively help students to progress steadily in gaining basic, functional skills for communication, in terms of listening, speaking and writing, and fundamental knowledge of Chinese culture and society within one year through weekly one-to-one or group tutorials (normally 2–3 hours per week). We also provide short-term and intensive Chinese tutorials to suit schedules of individual students.

Our tutorials comprise the following components:

  • listening and speaking exercise
  • vocabulary building
  • grammar
  • reading exercise
  • composition
For Chinese grammar, we normally use Practical Chinese Reader I–IV, a set of textbooks which has systematic coverage on Chinese grammar. The same set of textbooks has been used for many years by the Institute for Chinese Studies, University of Oxford to train students who major in Chinese Studies. The textbooks can be purchased through the Amazon link.

For reading and writing, we use set texts and topics which we have prepared as well as texts and topics that are of interest to our students (these can be related to business, culture, history, literature, politics, and international relations).

Please contact us for discussion about our tutorial services and charges.
